We will contact you as soon as possible!
There has been a change in Tewa Roots Society Therapy Services Clinical Directorship. Our priority is the safety and support of clients of TRS Therapy Services. During this transition phase Interim Director of Therapy Services will be Alisha Shelbourn, MA, LPAT, LPCC, and member Winnebago Tribe in NB. Alisha will be providing clinical supervision and oversight to ensure all client care and follow up is maintained and our Therapy team is fully supported. She can be reached at 505-810-1971 or [email protected].
Who we areOur staff of licensed therapists can help individuals, couples, families, and groups enhance coping skills, resolve trauma, manage substance use, connect with Nature, and increase overall life satisfaction.
If you are in need of services that Tewa Roots does not offer, we will support you in connecting with another trusted provider. If you are interested in residential treatment for substance use, let us know as you may qualify for full coverage! |
Who We ServeTewa Roots’ clinical therapy team highly values meeting clients where they’re at, both figuratively and literally! Let us know if you need support with transportation to sessions at our office. Unfortunately, our mobile unit is on pause. We can, however, offer therapy services via phone or video call.
We work with individuals over 5 years old, families, and couples. Priority of services is provided first to Nambé Pueblo Tribal members and their families, second to Tribal members of surrounding Pueblos and their families, and lastly to all residents throughout New Mexico with Medicaid. Our team can work closely with outside case management, probation, court, and other service providers to ensure quality and comprehensive care coordination. |
What to expectPlease fill out our referral form with as much information as you feel comfortable sharing and we will contact you within 24 business hours to set up an initial appointment, provide an external referral, or place you on our waitlist.
During your initial appointment, you will complete an assessment that, in considering your expressed needs, schedule, and preferences, will help our team get an idea of which services and provider may work best for you or your family. When first meeting with your therapist, peer support worker, or case manager, you will collaborate on creating a Care Plan that will serve as a guide for your work with us. We value your autonomy in this process and trust that you are the expert of your own life. Our providers value highly engaging and non-conventional therapy methods (with your safety always at heart!) so expect to be met with creativity, transparency, and flexibility. |
What to bringMost importantly– bring your curiosity! We believe that is all it takes to start making changes in your life.
You and your therapist may plan to walk outdoors, play basketball, kayak, paint, garden, or any number of other activities that may require getting dirty, so please dress accordingly (if you should decide to engage in these experiences). We provide snacks and tea and are always open to suggestions to increase your enjoyment of our space! |
